Should America Legalize 12 Million Illegal Aliens
Should America legalize 12 million illegal aliens is a hot topic. Most people shy away from this question for fear of being quoted for their remarks. I have a friend who speaks openly about the subject, but he speaks about the pros and cons regarding the subject. I found his way of thinking quite interesting. Although he talks about it openly, he still maintains some type of privacy. He discusses it with close friends such as me. He starts out by saying, we are allowed to go over to other countries and stay there with the help of a visa, so why should we punish them by denying them access to America. This is a good point, but they are coming without a visa, they are sneaking in without permission. He pointed out that we deny more visas then any other country, therefore they sneak in to find refuge. Therefore, the question ‘should America legalize 12 million aliens’ is so controversial because I say no and my friend say yes. This is how the United States is divided on the subject as well. I do not feel we have enough room or jobs to support ourselves or find adequate living quarters. He says that they are here anyway, why not keep them working and legalize them so they pay taxes. They already have jobs and a place to live. I agree with that statement, but I still have mixed feelings about the subject. Should America legalize 12 million aliens without taking care of our own people? No, we should start helping Americans and once we have succeeded in doing that, then maybe we help a few at a time. I do not think we should give them welfare or food stamps or any help, they need to support themselves and help support the government by paying taxes. If this would be the case, then maybe they could stay here where the living conditions are better than what they have had before. However, they also have to live by our laws and customs. My friend agrees with this as well, but also expresses concerns for more arrests because they do understand our laws and customs. I believe they have to take classes to enter the United States to take refuge and learn the laws and customs. Should America legalize illegal aliens is hot right now, however, I do not think it will happen.

As a legal alien I have to say that they need to come in like the rest of us. If I had come in like them I would have been deported in a second. This takes away the responsibility of the country they are fleeing from.
Problem here is they could stop them if they wanted to.
The Bush administration is planning on opening up the borders - Mexico and Canada.
